I realize that the thread is about freezing vegtables, and using vaccum bags, however last year I had a pleasing experience with berries. I bought 2 flats of red raspberries, with the intention, of making them into jam. I didn"t want to start in on the jam making at the time, so I sit the 2 flats in the chest freezer, and totally forgot about them. We have a side by side fridge- freezer, in the house, and seldom go out to the storage shed where the old chest freezer is. last week we needed a chicken from the freezer, and I found the berries, when I opened the freezer. They looked good, so I popped a couple in my mouth, and found them to be like they had only been there overnight. The wife and I are munching on them now, and have consumed most of one flat.
