speaking from experience, (i have a 5240, and used to drive a 7240 in the UK)i have no problem with the german built machine, like everything else how you use it makes more difference. In Europe the german built JD have a great reliablity record, having said that, back in the UK i would touch a New Holland if you gave it to me, a lot seem to spend more time apart than running, this side of the pond they seem OK.
Worst thing service wise on a 5200 series is cleaning rads, the oil cooler and air con rad "swing" out of the way, only they don't cause the air filter box and some frame components are in the way!
Lots of 5250s handling far more power than they were designed for, i know of 2 that are putting out 150 hp at the shaft and both have over 11000 hours on ith no major work...
