Gary, My F-I-L That lives @ Stratford, Tx has been using a grain fumigant that is in large pills or pellets form. Usually after a rain, so there is some ground moisture to activate the pills....you have to use heavy rubber gloves , pour out 4 to 6 pills, pour them into the prairie dog hole, wad up some newspaper and push the paper down the hole with a old broom stick or straight hoe handle. Then take a shovel and cover the hole with soil and stomp it down hard. Go to next hole and repeat the process above. Come back in tomorrow and recheck and retreat any dig outs. Keep checking for 3 to 5 days. This will wipe out a large colony of prairie dogs in a hurry! Sure beats waiting around and hoping the plague kills them out!!! Hope this helps. Later, John A.
