Mike: There was one there when the drill was new , but over time some one for got to replace when the took it out last(the factory puts loktite on them so the dont't back out when reversing the drill). So now back to your original question. If you can close the chuck put a 3/8 allan wrench (short end) in chuck tighten down, put drill in LOW gear,lay down on table or support in vice (without crushing) and smack allan wrench with a mallet or a block of wood counter clockwise to spin the chuck off of the spindle, if you can't close the chuck you may need a large pipe plier to grip body of chuck. Your new chuck should come with a new LEFT handed threaded screw to replace your lost one. The spindle thread is a 3/8X24 for that drill.
