Leyland tractors were actually 'decended' from the old Nuffield range, The Name comes from Lord Nuffield who, as Mr.William Morris founded Morris motors later known as BMC ( British Motor Corporation) later rhrough mergers takeovers etc it became Leyland. (Now defunct). Charles Nickerson bought the tractor side of British Leyland, painted them 'Harvest Gold' and re-badged them Marshalls, hoping that the Well respected Marshall tractor name would help to boost sales, (which it didn't) But that name too has disappeared. Your engine will be basically a BMC 4/98 as fitted to the Nuffield 10/60 I think. A 270 with a Perkins engine? hmmm thats a novelty I wonder if it was offered as an option?
