The combined age of myself and my 51 8N is 113 years. I think about that every time we mow the grass. Add my 33 year old 110 JD mower to the mix and the numbers can get depressing. I bought my tractor in 1964 for $375.00 and got three pieces of equiptment with it. It has worked long and hard when I farmed and now we just mow and grade snow on 28 acres. I worked in a industrial plant as a lab tech. and as a power house operator for 37 years till they went belly up. Now I am employed by the state as a boiler operator for the last 5 years. (Note the absence of the dreaded four letter w**k word.) Been married for 25 happy years. (25 out of 42 ain't bad!) Two kids , daughter a lieutenant in local fire dept. son a lieutenant in navy with two tours as a navagator on ea6-b electronic warfare plane on the Nimitz. He is currently at Redstone arsenal at Huntsville, Al. Got a boat, camper, rifles, shotguns and making about the same money as when I was farming. The only livestock is my two dogs, 113# female lab. newfie. cross that's a big lover and 20# Lhasa billie goat cross house mutt. Hardest headed dog that ever owned me. I figure I've had about a dozen tractors of all colors, even greeeen, but I have kept this N through them all.
