Took my 8N lift apart to freshen up the seals and piston, and discovered a strange bolt installed through the long rod that goes down to the pump.. My manuals aren't too clear on this part of the tractor. I don't think it is supposed to be there but I'm not sure what is...It is installed with the head towards the lift handle, and the threads are hitting on the lift piston . Looks to be an 8MM bolt, about 2 inches long. Is it replacing a pin or was it supposed to hold a spring? It is NOT the famous position control pin, that is there and about 1/3 worn off. The lift did work before it was taken apart except it leaked down pretty bad, and I've already found the scored rings and cylinder that caused that. Does anyone have a picture of a properly assembled cover with all the parts ? Thanks!
