i had same problem...bought new battery..that didnbt help. Try this: remove starter (easy to do 2 bolts) open starter lid (brushes end)...remove lid gently...withdraw armature...take dremel tool/wire brush and clean corrosion off all parts of copper armature. Also look inside starter housing...clean large field coil magnets with dremel tool/sanding disk.....make everythihg shiny. Reassemble (easier than you may think)...brushes have springs you can lock/unlock My bet that will fix it... Starters get corroded after time inside. My dealer wanted 80 bucks + exhcange for rebuilt I saved myslef 80.00...works like a charm/...rotates very fast now. laxump@hotmail.com Upstate NY
