I would guess your main jet in the carb is clogged. If the engine will rev up fine with no load it's not the distributor, if it was it would pop and backfire. You are supposed to oil the distributor every so often. Buy, a operators manual, lots of info. If its bogging down it's your carb. If it's still 6volt and you have a 12volt battery you need to change the coil to 12volts. That could be why it's stalling. Also this tractor is 6 volt positive ground, so it's not like a car.
