Hello Dick, I just discovered this discussion today - was scrounging around on the net because I also want to build a Holt tracked tractor - probably a model 75 of around 1917, 18, in about 1/8 scale to suit a working model gasoline engine for which I have bought castings from Coles Power Models in New Hollywood, Ca. Put in the order in September and still awaiting delivery, and hoping... Have you got any further with your investigations since March? There is also a museum in Stockton, CA: the Haggin Museum, they have a full size model 75 but have not responded yet to my request for info. Their site is http://www.hagginmuseum.org/ Maybe we can be of assistance to each other in researching original information on Holt/Best/Caterpillar tractors
