Hello David, Glad to see the pistons out of the cylinders at last. I assume this is from the model 50 you aquired earlier? Unless you have the equipment/experience to measure and hone the cylinders I would take it to a dependable machine shop and let them clean it up and measure the cylinder roundness etc. From the pictures it looked like you had a little pitting. This will have to come out. The machine shop will tell you what the minimum bore will be after resurfacing etc. Once you know this you will know if you need new pistions and you will know what rings to order. If the pitting is real bad they might have to bore it out and fit sleeves. You will also want to have the block "decked" (surfaced and checked for flatness). How does the crank look? I would be replacing all seals and gaskets so perhaps you should pull the crank and get it looked at too. Time to have the head taken apart and checked out. You will want to check the valves for wear and perhaps have them machined back into spec. Likewise with the valve seats. The head should also be surfaced and checked for flatness. Perhaps not a bad idea to have it checked for cracks too. How does the valve train look? Worn rocker arms? Lifters look worn? Cam look okay? Lots to do! Good luck and don't give up on it. The little 50 is a great tractor. I'm having a blast with mine. John Van

I remember when I was a kid my dad sometimes would tuck my brother and I in at night and we would ask him questions about his childhood on the farm. To this day, it's some of the best stories I've ever heard. And now, I'm so glad that I asked those questions, and if I were a little smarter i
