I have a 1962 IH catalog that shows a #21, 81-bushel ground drive spreader with wood sides that looks similar in design to that New Idea machine. A similar 95-bushel #30 was also available. Color scheme is: wood parts, hitch, frame, handles and parts attached to handles are red; beaters appear black; entire front sheet, top rail, and wheels are white; Arch over beaters is red. Picture shows a minimum of shielding over the chains. I wish I had a scanner, I'd put it up here for you.
