Last year I was looking for exactly the same thing your looking for now. After test driving dozens of riders and tractors I setttled on a Great Dane Charriot Zero turn. Of all the rigs I tested this machine was by far the heaviest built, without giving up manuverability. It was also substantially cheaper than some of the more popular "name" brands. I have alot of hills and tight areas to work around and had always heard zero turns would not work well on hills. That's pure bunk!! Zero turns are far superior on hills because of there rearward weight bias and the fact that you control the power to each wheel independantly. Granted, you can't mow around the hillsides very well, you must mow up and down the hills. So far I have been very pleased with the quality also. We have about 80hrs on the hour meter without any problems. My second choice was the Ferris Zero turn. It is also a very nice machine and it can be had with a full suspension. It cost about $2K more, but had many more features.
