Hello All, This is just an update concerning an old post about these rare tractors. I spoke with a couple of retired Ford Tractor Engineers and Dealers(In the Michigan area) about these tractors and there is not much info out there on them. About 6 of them have surfaced and not many more than that are know to have been built. All were built by a local converter in Detroit for Ford Motor Company as many Special Order Low Production Units were. No explanation is known about the serial numbers other than the converter probably just copied them off the old four speed transmissions when the swaps were done because they were already assigned to those tractors and they could be tracked for warranty purposes. 2 or 3 were ordered for the City of Detroit to mow the Medians around the City. The others could have been for Parks and Recreation Dept. ? no one really knows for sure after all these years. The salesman that sold the Mowing tractors to the city comfirmed the story about those tractors because he asked about the mowers on the tractors that were not mentioned. Other than that I have not been able to come up with any more Info on them , If any one else finds more feel free to post it. Thanks Tony Jacobs
