i am also up against a steering gearbox with side bushings so far gone it not only leaks out all the fluid, but the arms can be seen moving with slop (excess radial play) because the bushings are all but non existent. i dont know what keeps the sector gears engaged and i am concerned for the safe operation of the tractor, as i am getting it running again for a 70 year old friend with no mechanical skills. if anybody has solved this problem, i would appreciate any tips on a simple way to locally fabricate replacement bushings and get them fitted into the gear box. I am hoping they are simple cylindrical bushings with a light press fit and no special geometry???
