I had a Z129 block pinned a couple of years ago. It was about $200. I was having the engine overhauled at the time and when they discovered the cracks they sent it out to be pinned and that was the additional charge. There are four pins in my block. It has worked fine. The pins this fellow used are stainless steel threaded rods. They traverse coolant area, not lubricated area. It sounds like your cracks may be worse than mine. Not every block is repairable. HTH.
