CNH had to sell the Doncaster plant as part of European approval for its merger with New Holland. My guess is that selling the McCormick name along with the plant was what got Landini to sign on the dotted line. It really is sad.

I kinda doubt that CNH will drop the IH name off of their farm equipment. If they did, I'd think that someone would try to buy the rights to the name and build a line of IH-branded equipment. That name has a huge following. Can you hear a "giant sucking sound" away from CNH?

As for Deere, if CNH dropped the IH name, I'd jump to AGCO Allis. I don't really care for the green stuff too much.
