404-stuck clutch,grinding pto when engaged

Just got the 404 runing,she runs sweet after years off sitting,curious how many 404 were produced?Any sugestions on how to free up the clutch-throwout bearing-plate?cant engage the clutch,push on the petal and the linkage beads,tried spraying the throwout and banging on the arm,any suggestions?also when I engage the
pto it bearly turns and jerks & I hear a grinding sound under the seat area,any thoughts before I tear it down??,Is a 404 a number series or does it fall under a letter series?thanks
