There are farmers around here who are making money, and some who are going broke. The ones who lose money are farmers; running the machines, repairing them, working livestock, etc. The ones who make money are businessmen. Farming is the line of business they are in, but they would probably do just as well if they owned a gas station or burger joint. Farming is all about return on investment, cash flow, and net profit (or loss).

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights. The garden was already sprouting when we hooked up the mid-mount shovel cultivators to the Pony.
