? About H Timing

Hi, Just changed my '44 H from Mag to Dist ensuring that all the marks line up correctly on the front gears etc. With #1 at TDC (Comp stroke),and the rotor pointing toward the #1 wire on the dist cap, Should the points be open as in the bumper is riding on the high portion of the dist. cam? Or should the points be closed? Using a used dist so I don't know if someone has had it apart or not. Thanks. FB
