Farmall M Hyd pump Removal Questions

I want to remove my hydraulic pump, however I have a couple of questions.. 1. can I still use the tractor without the pump in and the PTO as long as I dont need the hydraulics? 2. instructions on what I have to remove to pull the pump out.. I know it's not too difficult, however I know there are some pins to remove and from the drive shaft?? any thoughts there? Thanks

p.s. I get to remove a hydrualic pump on our 666 diesel also this weekend.. fun fun fun
