If I understand,this is a 340u? The lever with the black boot over it should be connected to the lever on the right side of the seat.I wonder,if you pull the boot off and find a hole in it,and it would attach to horizontal rod,and that rod attaches to the lever beside the seat.We had a 340u when I was young,and I think that is how the control linkage worked for the fast hitch.I don't know why anyone would try to operate the fast hitch like it appears in your pics.The draft control(teledepth) on this tractor is mechanical,and is set by a lever/handle on the left rear of the seat,but you would only need that if your were plowing.
