Pulled the 12V generator back off tractor and tested using external DC to see if it would act as a motor. After pulling apart and sanding armature along with cleaning, it now works using above test method. Hope to get it installed this afternoon and see if all is well. Researching this Delco # 10240 shows this began life on a Oliver in the late 50's. Slight modification of original mounting bracket made it easy to align and a 31" belt fit perfect. This was much cheaper than using a MD generator that I had used in converting my SM. I have had no problem whatsoever using the mounting brackets as the ground point on generators. Thanks for all...
