It's yours, wax it if you want to. I wax my B and it doesn't seem to be bothered by the engine heat. There used to be a caution not to wax new paint too soon. The advice I used to hear was to wait 6 or 8 months to allow the new paint time to completely cure. I don't know if that matters with modern paints.
