It is the same motor except for the fuel system. The injection pump on a 560 is governed to 1800 rpm and the 660 is governed to 2400. Other IH products that used the D282 had even higher rpm limits. The higher speed accounts for the higher hp. Changes to a larger radiator and different fan were made to accomdate the higher rating. Changes in gear speed are negligible because of the planetary hubs on the 660.
