I hope that this does not violate any rules on this forum as far as advertising. However I know that a lot of folks are looking for a source for antique plow wear parts and I just wanted to share this information. It is an email that I received this morning.

John,

Bill Sanders was the owner of Crescent Forge and he must have forwarded your contact info. when we were discussing if there was much interest in products.

I will be starting off with I-H 0552, 0554, 0556 plow shares. I have made some Spear Points out of steel for PLow Chief bottoms, I will be working on forging some. I will be getting additional tooling to do moldboards as well as landsides. I am currently working on my structure and furnace as it was 7 degrees this am. I have tooling for I-H, Deere, Moline, Ford-Ferguseon shares. I am currently working on some Oliver moldboards for the 100 plowmaster and finished some Moline CY142-A 14" shares.

This is a new start up and there will be more tooling coming and new tooling to come depending on the interest.

I will be making limited parts for Case, AC, and Oliver. I am also working on some tooling to mfg. shares for some walking plows and sulky plows. Please be patient as I have to make all new fixtures on tooling.

I have recently worked with several Amish and English in Illinios , and in Ohio holding plow events where we have been recording plow performance on all makes and models this has proved to be a valuable asset in our plow business. I have discussed having one possibly this spring with several people in Pa.

Let me know if you have interest and what part of the state you are located.

The name of our co. is Ploworx and the e-mail is - ploworx@att.net or (330) 332-9386

I do look forward to hearing from you in the future.

Steve

Today's Featured Article - George's Fordson Major - by Anthony West (UK). This is a bit of a technical info to add on to the article about George's Major in the "A Towny Goes Plowing" article. George bought his Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken by Harold alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that the major was produced late 19 ... [Read Article]
