John I believe a few of the first ones for the fall farm shows were painted at local body shops. There was a 544 at the Duquion Red Power show that was painted gold over red paint. I believe this was one that was pulled of the line and sent to a body shop to be painted. IH painted the regular gold demos at the factory. Remember IH would custom paint a tractor for a small fee. The dealers got to choose what tractors they received as gold demos. down here in the south there were 3 656 diesel utility row-crop hydro diesels within 50 miles of me. Our dealer got a 826 hydro demo, dealer 35 mile away got a 656 Farmall demo and a 826 hydro, dealer 50 miles west got a 826 hydro, 1026 hydro, and a 1456 all demos,.
