I would agree with less repair that your timing is off' the 310 timing lines are some times hard to see and timing is vary important. As for your cavatation problem they make a water filter kit to put on it will help .If iget one in that does not have one on it i install one ,alittel money spent on it will save you big in the end. Also have you checked injectors. The 310 is prone to blowing blue smoke if it idels to long . Also check the thermostat if it is not getting to operating temp. you will not burn the fuel and it will slober. it should not get below 165 degrees.
