It seeems to me that when we overhauled it the first time we removed the tube that runs to the intake manifold to see about that, and it still didn't make much difference, but I'll double check on that when I get home - memory gets fuzzy sometimes. We thought that maybe the casting was different for the head and that the ports might be smaller or something, but the casting number is identical to that of a tractor, as are valve sizes.
