Yes. That is where the drive for the front wheel assist would be mounted. The reverse idler shaft and gears are just behind the cover but you can get a limited view of the other gears through there. If the transmission oil is full you may lose about five gallons when removing the cover so best to drain some out first. You will sill get a small amount that is trapped between the cover and the housing but it isn't very much.
You may just want to repair the park lock and just try it in reverse to see if you hear any noise. There are a lot of those tractors that are being used with one or more teeth missing on that gear. It is only used for reverse and the park lock so you don't have to worry about it when you are moving forward.
