Bosch was optional equipment from the factory. You don't see too many. If works I'd use it. The old E4 mags are impossible to get parts for. Do you know if he still has the original engine? Maybe an entire F20 swap? I guess my opinion is that if you do not have the "original" parts what's the point in faking it? I'd just do a nice job of fixing up what he has. Preserve the history of that particular tractor the way the farmer used it. That tractor has it's own unique story and that is the one that should be told.
