I've seen several bent arms but never a bent shaft. I think the highway mowers on the Super A were particularly rough on them. I think the standard arms were beefed up some on the later model tractors, maybe the Fast-Hitch era Super C and 200.
I've seen arms that were twisted and a later/heavier arm is probably the only real fix. I've also seen arms where the ears start to bend away from each other. Replacing the 2 pins with bolts can help prevent (or even somewhat correct) that problem. I've seen this problem on a Super A with a grape hoe that uses the right arm for depth control.
