Not necessarily. The generator is not putting out basically, but that could be a bad connection, or a bad voltage regulator also. My guess is the voltage regulator. John T has a troucbleshooting guide that will help you!!
For now, get a NEW battery and install it. Also, don't jump any more than you have to because the 12 volts isn't good for your 6 volt system.
