Hello,
I have a 2400A industrial (I know its pretty close the same thing as an IH 454). We have a PTO problem. The PTO spins, but when it comes under load it just slips. The power steering, 3 pt, and brakes all seem to work just fine.
I know that it might be a Hydraulic PTO issue. Are there other things I should check first before digging into this to replace the PTO?
Its a gas engine, with syncroshift tranny, and an independent PTO.
I am actually a teacher at a HS and this might be a great learning opportunity for my advanced mechanics boys who need a good project. Just trying to wrap my mind around this one!
