I went through the same thing you are about a week ago.
Learned there are at least three maybe four different brands of pumps with different seal configurations.
Mine was a Thompson with an O ring, had a badly worn shaft and the gear was also very loose on the shaft. So, I had an extra and found it to have a lip seal and then learned there are two different sized ID depending on brand and vintage.
Here is what I determined on lip seals,
5/8'' shaft IH p/n 353183R91, SKF6229
3/4'' shaft SKF 7443
SKF and CR are same thing, Napa had it.
SKF has a good internet site for crossing over OEM #S
