Looking at purchasing a rotary mower, need a larger mower for maintaing roughly 35 to 40 acres of pasture. Majority of pastures are timothy orchard grass mix. Looking at either a used in good shape or just buying new. Gearbox condition is what scares me about buying used. What mowers do you guys prefer???? I have looked at the WOODS 121 in either 8 or 10ft. Or the DEERE MX8 OR MX10. Not sure if I want 3pt or pull type. The tractor that will be powering it is a 2003 JD 5520. 89hp at engine, dyno at 85hp at pto. Has sync shuttle trans and mfwd. What's everyones thoughts?????? What are other good mowers to look at?????thanks jim.
