In direct (TA forward) the ramp/rollers, or sprag, clutch must easily slip to allow the faster speed. Even the big tractors with Hydraulic TA clutches use a one way clutch to hold the primary force of torque reaction and a multi disk clutch to prevent freewheeling. Jim
