You stated '72 and older, so that pretty much limits you to the *40/*60 series and older. As for value, it's either very old or very rare and of course condition when you buy it. After that, you need to decide on if you want to stick with a particular series, do you plan to actually use any of them or just for show or do you want a sample from several series. Everyone has their own ideas and many you have gotten so far are probably what that poster has or do not fit your criteria. Only you can decide how you would like your collection to look. A little more information on what style you like would be helpful.... older unstyled, letter series, etc.
Personally, I prefer letter or early number series tractors (especially w/Fast Hitch), but that's just me. I only have a 240U w/3point, but I don't think I would "collect" the 40/60 series unless they were something I needed to use on a regular basis.
