806 carb. question

On my C301 carb there is a fuel shut off solonoid.The book sez' there is High speed adj. needle in the center of it as pictured in op. manual. this sol. is solid, never had it. This carb sucks enough gas as is and it runs rich at low speeds My 450 carb has hs. adj. and you can lean it a tad for light work. QUESTION IS; Do I have the wrong solonoid? is it an up date? Tried putting needle from 450 in it,was different. Have to run D21 plugs for light work 15y's for plowing otherwise she fouls the 15's with light work.Thanks in advance Geo.
