I found a better depiction of the timing marks in the I&T manual for the 444. It is a drawing rather than an outdated picture. It also describes the procedure in text.



When reassembling, mesh the single punch marked tooth on the camshaft gear with the single punched marked tooth space on the crankshaft gear and the double punch marked tooth on the camshaft gear with the double punched marked space on the governor and ignition unit drive gear. Refer to Fig.40.
