I was having a lttle grinding/grating sound when applying the left brake on my 51 M. So I pulled the cover and removed the band (which seemed to look good). I cleaned the shaft, removed the pins and put never seize on. Re-installed and there is no difference. Also jacked up the rear and the left tire seems to want to stick,(turns but not without some effort) the right spins pretty easy. Pedals are adjusted evenly... Could it need a new band?
When driving the tractor, the grinding will go away after several minutes of using the brake. Both brakes work well.
