Exhaust From Bell Housing

51 Cub . I have a lot to do on this tractor but I had not noticed this before. After running for a little while I shut it down and noticed exhaust coming out of the holes where you would bolt on an implement on the Bell housing. Look through the inspection hole I can see it there also. What do you think this is caused from ?? I think I know the answer to this question and I don't think I'm going to like it
