My Dad was one of the first people in Our area in north western IL to run Duals on Letter Series Farmalls. '54 Super MTA & '51 M, then 450. Salesman recommended M&W direct Axle mount duals. The Hubs in the cast centers of M & H rear wheels were prone to cracking across the center if a lot of offset force was applied. We did use clamp-on duals on the '51 M and '54 Super H but only on smooth fields with 1 size smaller tires and low air pressure. Duals helped with flotation & traction on dry dirt but stay away from wet spots. Duals on those low HP tractors will turn you straight into wet spots & get you buried! Been There, Done That! A LOT! Even got the 4010 diesel buried a few times! And those direct axle mount duals can fill up with about a TON of mud!
