I have seen belts that were fixed by drilling small holes on each side of crack and lacing together with leather or other types of tough string or even wire. That is if the splice runs on top of or in the grove and not on the v sides. Would also depend on the amount of pressure on the belt. Don't know if that will work in you situation with the 6 sided belt, but might be worth a try.
