Thanks for the reply. He is 65 and I think I talked him into just buying slab wood bundles from the many Amish local sawmills. Then he can put that $1000 into wood instead of a splitter and all he needs is his saw then. $600 buys enough to heat his home here in mid MI. None of us are getting any younger either. He's tired of borrowing my sons splitter and thought maybe his little A would run one. Even the one he has seen is $700 then add to that hoses/fittings etc....he's just better off getting slab wood.
