You have found the problem!! Now what cause the problem!! More than likly the weight retainer ring is disseneraging . With the line open, the return will release the pressure in the pump housing and the 2 plungers will travel out farther and come in contact with the cam ring. This addition plunger travel will deliver more fuel, buttttt this could happen again!!, in the near future. Need to get a repair kit or take it to a injection pump shop. Hope this helps.
