Yes go with the alternator if for no other reason than it will spin over easier and go with the electronic instead of points,no more point probs but performance gain is minimal over new points but does'nt fade. The carb and govnercan get you more power but I will NOT send anyone to the D shop of blunders.Friend of mine bought a carb from him for a W9 and it would not even idle below 2000 rpm!! If you do a search on this site for Super M mods or soup up you will get a lot of ideas.
