Some good ideas but we need to correct something here the Power steering, TA, brake, lube and cooling pump is filtered buy the same filter as the Hyd pump in the rear end housing. there is a supply tube in the rear end that brings the oil to the filter from the filter to the TA housing there is a O-ring at the split between the TA Housing and rear end housing then a cross over tube to the front pump with a cup seal on it an o-ring in the pump a cross over tube to the hyd pump. if the hyd pump is working ok then filter and supply tube ok I would remove the MC Valve from the TA housing and clean it and check for ware you can check the pump when you have it off with oil in it buy puting your thump over the out port hole and turning the pump with your other hand if you can hold your thump on the hole when you turn the pump or if the pump turns hard buy hand with out thump over hole you will need a pump. when you have the MCV off check the little plastic check valve at the bottom rear of the MCV mount if it is bad no Power steering I hope this helps
