I run GL-5 85/140 in all my old tractors - 2 Olivers, a JD model B and my IHC Super C. Walmart has the best price. Their brand, Supertech, states that it is safe for brass, bronze etc.
If you want to clean the differential prior to adding new gear lube, a couple of gallons of universal tractor (hydraulic) oil helps flush out the goo and absorb any water present. Just add the UTF, drive your tractor around for a few minutes, and drain. Some guys recommend diesel, however I have heard it can be hard on the seals.
