I removed it in a effort to put the tractor back to its original style. Uncle had installed the axle from a WD 9 on the w6 as he had a gigantic silage bucket on the front end and was afraid that the w6 axle would not handle the weight.. he actually steered the tractor by a joy stick, he had removed the steering wheel completely. I never got to experience this modification buy his grandson believed that it was a miracle that he didn't kill himself with it as it turned the wheel way to fast. here is what he had installed. it was operated by a hydrolic pump mounted on the front of the tractor, The upper part was welded to the long steering rod and the cylinder was welded to the arms and rod that moved the front wheels
